Mark de Clive-Lowe
Mark de Clive-Lowe
Mark de Clive-Lowe is a half-Japanese New Zealander who pioneered the broken beat movement in London before establishing himself as one of electronic music's most innovative voices. Now Tokyo-based, he creates music through live production and improvisation techniques.
MdCL has released acclaimed albums including 'Six Degrees', 'CHURCH', and 'Heritage', collaborating with legends like Moodymann, Kamasi Washington, Kenny Dope, and Omar. His performances appeal to dancers, progressives, and purists alike.
His Live Remix set fuses jazz improvisation, broken beat, deep house, and global rhythms into a one-of-a-kind performance. Using keyboards, samplers, and live looping, he builds and deconstructs tracks in real-time. As Jazziz notes: "Way before jazz hybridity became a worldwide phenomenon, de Clive-Lowe was busy designing its blueprint."
